Delivering Bespoke Renewable Off-Grid Heating and Electricity Solutions Across South and West Wales: Your Trusted Experts in Installing Innovative Renewable Energy Systems
At Solar Save Renewables, we know that each project is unique and requires a customised approach.
In our work we have seen many locations and cases where the traditional grid system may not be practical or sustainable enough. Therefore, we have specialised in creating efficient and reliable off-grid sustainable energy solutions for heating, electricity, and other purposes.
Our experienced engineers can design bespoke off-grid heating and electric solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of individuals or businesses. We use innovative technologies and approaches to ensure that each solution is not only customised, but also environmentally friendly and cost-effective.
Below, we present a few instances of our customized off-grid heating and electricity solutions.
Solar power system designed to provide both heating and electricity:
Solar Panels - Energy Storage - Air Source Heat Pump
We have designed a fully integrated system combining the solar PV, battery storage, and ASHP to maximize energy efficiency. The excess electricity generated by the solar PV system can be used to power the ASHP directly, reducing the need for grid electricity. When solar production is insufficient, the system can draw electricity from the battery storage to power the ASHP.
Here's an overview of how the system operates:
The Photovoltaic (PV) panels capture sunlight and convert it into electricity which can be used to power electrical appliances, lighting, and Air Source Heat Pump.
Battery Storage: The excess electricity generated by the solar PV panels during the day can be stored in a battery system for later use. This stored energy can be utilized during periods of low sunlight or at night when solar production is not available.
Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP): The DAIKIN Altherma ASHP extracts heat from the ambient air and transfers it into a building to provide space heating and hot water. The ASHP works by circulating a refrigerant fluid within the system, which absorbs heat from the outdoor air and transfers it to the indoor space through a heat exchanger.
Solar PV ~ Battery storage ~ Air Source Heat Pump This is a 4 kWp ground mounted system composed of 10 x 400W solar panels, 5.8kWh battery storage and a DAIKIN Altherma H HT (high temperature) air source het pump.
Hybrid System combining multiple renewable energy sources: Solar Panels - Biomass Boiler - Hot Water Tank
Our client already had a biomass heating system in place with a large buffer tank and provision for hot water immersion heater. The aim was to reduce burning wooden pellets during the summer season(biomass) and utilise the excess solar photovoltaic energy to fulfil the hot water needs.
We have designed a fully integrated system that combines the solar PV, biomass boiler, hot water tank and Solar PV power diverter to optimize energy usage. The smart microgeneration power diverter monitors the electricity production from the solar PV panels and the energy demand in the property. When excess solar energy is available, the power diverter directs it to heat the water in the Domestic Hot Water Cylinder, instead of being exported to the National Grid.
Here's an overview of how the system operates:
Solar PV panels convert sunlight into electricity through the photovoltaic effect.
The Smart Microgeneration Power Diverter eddi intelligently controls the flow of electricity from the solar PV panels. It prioritizes the use of solar energy within the property before exporting any excess electricity to the grid.
The biomass boiler can provide space heating and hot water.

Discover why our customer endorses and recommends this renewable system
"Our pellet boiler hasn't fired up for over a month. All our hot water is provided from the solar panels via Eddi. That's brilliant for us as it's free hot water when the sun shines (aside from the installation costs of course).
Solar Save Renewables were excellent and the installation was efficiently managed. Petar had recommended this MyEnergi product as our preferred option of a SolarEdge unit wasn't available. We're very happy with it as it's a British company based near where we used to live in North Lincolnshire. It works well and has a second output if we need it in the future. It's part of a family of products including an EV charger and battery storage that may well be of interest to us in time."
eddi
Eddi is a smart microgeneration power diverter that constantly monitors your energy usage and helps you to maximise the consumption of your own solar energy.
With eddi you can direct and manage the distribution of your self-generated energy, enabling you to determine its purpose and utilization.
You can divert the solar energy to power heating systems, heat water or maximize the efficiency of an Air Source Heat Pump.
Every home with micro-generation such as solar panels have an eddi.

Your advantages with hot water from photovoltaics
-
Easier and cheaper than thermal solar systems
-
Easiest installation with "cables instead of pipes", less need of expensive copper pipes
-
No maintenance costs
-
Even works in case of power failure.
-
Boost-backup optionally usable.
- No anti-freezing liquid necessary
- Cables have almost no energy loss compared to pipes
