Some solar projects are just jobs.

Others mean a little more.

This one is happening in Llandeilo, the town we call home, and that makes it feel different for all of us at Solar Save Renewables.

We are the solar PV installer for the new Net Zero business units being built at Beechwood Industrial Estate, and seeing the project mentioned in a Welsh Government press release was a really proud moment for us.

Not because we’re looking for a pat on the back.

It is simply nice to see a local business being part of something that’s happening right here in our own town.

We’ve been based in Llandeilo for years, and during that time we have had the chance to work with people and businesses across South and West Wales.

We have installed solar on homes, businesses and all sorts of different buildings.

But there is something quite special about looking at a project like this and knowing it’s happening just down the road.

The development will bring five new business units to Beechwood Industrial Estate. They are being built with energy efficiency and sustainability in mind, and our job is to install the solar PV that will form part of that.

It might sound like just another solar installation.

To us, it isn’t.

It is about what comes after the panels

When you put solar on a building, you are not just putting panels on a roof. You are giving the people using that building the opportunity to generate some of their own electricity.

For a business, that can mean making better use of the energy the building produces, reducing reliance on the grid and having a little more control over energy costs.

And as technology continues to develop, things like battery storage and EV charging can add even more to that.

But for us, the exciting part is seeing renewable energy becoming a normal part of new buildings and new businesses.

Something we can be proud of

Running a local business comes with its ups and downs. There have been plenty of early mornings, long days, challenges and lessons along the way.

So when you get the opportunity to work on a project like this, in the town where your business is based, you do take a moment to appreciate it.

We are proud that the skills and experience we have built up over the years are now contributing to a project that will become part of Llandeilo’s future.

And we are looking forward to seeing the units finished, seeing businesses move in and knowing that we played a small part in making it happen.

For us, that is what makes this project feel a bit different. It is local. It is happening here. And we are proud to be part of it.
