The Brief:
Mr Perkins and his family live in the beautiful rural area of Ceredigion, Wales. Their journey toward solar energy began with a simple yet profound goal: to shrink their environmental footprint and cut down on their electricity bills. With an electric car and a Zappi 2 charging point already installed in their garage, Mr Perkins and his family were the ideal candidates for a solar energy system.
Initially, Mr Perkins considered installing solar panels on his garage’s south-facing roof, which gets plenty of sunlight. The ample land surrounding the property also meant they were even better positioned for a solar upgrade.
Mr Perkins approached us with his interests of reducing his environmental impact and lowering his electricity bills.
After an initial site survey, we proposed an innovative, tailored solution that combined both rooftop and ground-mounted solar panels to maximise energy capture.
The Solution:
Here’s what we proposed:
High-Efficiency Solar Panels: We recommended 435W high-efficiency panels with power optimizers to ensure the highest possible energy output.
Combination of Roof and Ground-Mounted Panels:Roof-Mounted Panels: Installed on the sunny south-facing garage roof to capture maximum sunlight.
Ground-Mounted Panels: Placed on the surrounding land to capture sunlight from various angles throughout the day using an innovative ground-mounting system.
Battery Storage: We included a 5.8kWh battery storage system to store excess solar energy generated during the day for use in the evening and at night, reducing reliance on grid power.
This tailored approach allowed us to deliver optimal energy production, helping Mr. Perkins and his family achieve their goals of environmental sustainability and cost savings.
